“House of Pain (Fine Malt Lyrics)”, el debut de House of Pain, va a ser relanzado vía Tommy Boy Records coincidiendo con el trigésimo aniversario de su edición original en 1992. Estará disponible en edición digital de lujo, edición limitada en doble LP de 180 gramos en vinilo blanco y naranja opaco, con un ‘Jump Around Rope’ de regalo, y una edición limitada en cassette, todo ello con un artwork reinterpretado por Tristan Eaton y cinco bonus tracks. También está disponible una edición estándar en vinilo, disco compacto y cassette.
Everlast, DJ Lethal y Danny Boy formaron House of Pain mientras todavía estaban en el instituto. Su álbum de debut, “House of Pain (Fine Malt Lyrics)”, se publicó en 1992 y se convirtió en multiplatino, gracias al gran éxito del single “Jump Around”, producido por DJ Muggs de Cypress Hill. La canción alcanzó el número 3 de la lista Billboard Top 100 en EE.UU. y llegó al Top 10 en otros lugares como Reino Unido y Canadá.
“Formar parte de algo que ha impactado tanto en la cultura como lo hicieron House of Pain y ‘Jump Around’ es más que un honor y una bendición”, comenta Erik Francis Schrody, nombre real de Everlast. “Cuando era un niño con sueños raperos, nunca podría haber imaginado que 30 años después nuestro trabajo se sigue escuchando y tocando en los mayores recintos del mundo”.
Y es que “Jump Around” ha sido nombrada como una de las mejores canciones del Hip-Hop por medios como NME, VH1, Q Magazine o The Source, y sigue siendo no sólo un clásico de los clubes, sino también uno de los himnos deportivos más reconocidos y uno de los ritmos más reconocibles en la historia del hip-hop. En las últimas tres décadas, el tema ha sido interpretado por Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, 21 Pilots, Limp Bizkit o Prophets of Rage, entre muchos otros, además de haber aparecido en varias películas.
