El próximo 25 de septiembre se pondrá a la venta “Cum On Feel the Hitz”, doble CD y doble LP que recoge los mayores éxitos de una de las bandas estandarte del glam rock británico, Slade. El doble CD contendrá 43 temas, mientras que el vinilo doble presentará 24 canciones.
Se trata de la más importante colección nunca publicada con todos los éxitos y singles de la banda, publicados entre 1970 y 1991. El disco incluye los seis singles que fueron número 1 en las listas británicas (“Coz I Luv You”, “Take Me Bak ‘Ome”, “Mama Weer All Crazee Now”, “Cum On Feel The Noize”, “Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me” y “Merry Xmas Everybody”), además de los 16 singles que llegaron al Top 10 del Reino Unido. La dupla compositora formada por Noddy Holder y Jim Lea consiguió una racha de 17 sencillos consecutivos alcanzando el Top 20 entre 1971 y 1976, éxito que ningún otro artista ha conseguido repetir.
Formados en la ciudad inglesa de Wolverhampton en 1966, la carrera musical de Slade abarcó tres décadas. Durante los 70 fueron una maquina imparable de éxitos, editando seis álbumes en total de los que tres de ellos alcanzaron el número 1. En los años ochenta, Slade disfrutó de un reflote musical, impulsado por su aparición en el mítico Festival de Reading en 1980. Éxitos como “My Oh My”, número 2 en 1983 y un año después con otro single, “Run Runaway”, consolidaron su legado como uno de las mejores bandas del Reino Unido. Su influencia y admiración ha sido reconocida por popes del rock como Joey Ramone, Alice Cooper, Noel Gallagher, Nikki Sixx, Ozzy Osbourne, Gene Simmons o Dee Snider, buena muestra de la importancia de Slade en la historia del rock.
