Def Leppard lanzarán la caja “The Early Years 79-81”

El próximo 20 de marzo de 2020 llegará al mercado de la mano de UMC/Virgin “The Early Years 79-81”, lujosa boxset que recopila el primer material de los británicos Def Leppard.

En “The Early Years 79-81” se recogen los dos primeros discos de estudio de Def Leppard, banda encuadrada en sus inicios dentro del movimiento del NWOBHM, aunque luego fuera virando hacia latitudes más comerciales. Estas dos primeras obras de estudio de los de Sheffield, “On Through The Night” (1980) y “High ‘N’ Dry” (1981), se recogen aquí en cinco CDs en los que hay espacio para los álbumes originales en versión remasterizada además de caras B, rarezas, remezclas y directos, incluyendo sesiones para Radio One o un directo de 1980 que permanecía inédito.

Sobre las motivaciones para este lanzamiento, el vocalista del grupo británico Joe Elliott ha comentado lo siguiente: “¡Bueno, los fans han demandado y nosotros hemos escuchado! Estoy realmente emocionado de que nuestros primeros años se vuelvan a trabajar con un montón de material raro, incluido el recién descubierto ‘Live at the Oxford New Theatre’, grabado en la gira por el Reino Unido de 1980 … ¡Ha sido una pasada organizar esta caja y espero que todos disfruten escuchándolo tanto como nosotros lo hicimos trabajando en ella!”.

La caja incluye también un ensayo contando la historia de ambos discos escrito por Paul Elliott, colaborador de publicaciones como Mojo y Classic Rock, en el que se incluye también fotos poco conocidas y diversa memorabilia. Ambos álbumes verán también la luz por separado en ediciones simples tanto en formato CD como vinilo (incluyendo una edición limitada prensada en cera de color).
