Se anuncia box set con abundante material inédito de Tom Petty, “An American Treasure”

Los fans de Tom Petty nunca dejarán de echarle de menos, pero al menos el mal trago de su repentina desaparición a finales del pasado año será menos amargo con esta noticia. Y es que se acaba de anunciar la edición el próximo 28 de septiembre de “An American Treasure”, una extensa caja de cuatro CDs con nada menos que sesenta cortes inéditos de Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Y se puede catar una pequeña parte de esta ingente colección de material no publicado hasta el momento gracias al video clip del tema registrado en 1982 “Keep A Little Soul” (ver sobre estas líneas), que ha sido estrenado a la par que la noticia.

La noticia la ha dado SiriusXM, tal y como recoge Rolling Stone en su edición digital. Al parecer se incluirán temas de estudio inéditos, grabaciones en directo, temas raros y versiones alternativas de canciones ya conocidas. Los fans además tendrán la oportunidad de elegir entre la versión más extensa o una más reducida de únicamente dos CDs.

La selección de los cortes ha corrido a cargo de la mujer de Petty, Dana, y su hija, Adria, junto con Benmont Tench, Mike Campbell y Ryan Ulyate.
